The Well

In the drought-prone Oromia region of southern Ethiopia, Borana pastoralists gather each dry season at ancient communal wells dug by past generations. The film follows their daily life around these wells and reveals an old code by which no one — not even a rival clan — can be turned away from the water, a portrait of hospitality holding firm against scarcity.
