Radio war
In 1932, by creating the Fascist propaganda radio station Radio Bari, Italy launched an unprecedented international propaganda war. For almost ten years, Italian, French, German, and British radio stations battled it out in an attempt to win the support of Arab and European listeners, and thereby influence major international geopolitical events. A radio war that powered the escalation of conflict right up to the outbreak of the Second World War, when it came to the fore.
Between spying, diplomacy, politics and revolts, France, England, Germany, and Italy battled to make their voices heard and win this ideological battle.
A Documentary series written by Stella Biliotti, Coline Gutter and Federico Schiavi. Directed by Federico Schiavi
